Faith- complete trust or confidence in someone or something
Threshold- a strip of wood, metal, or stone forming the bottom of a doorway and crossed in entering a house or room
Tarry- of,like, or covered with tar
Resolve- settle or find a solution to (a problem, dispute, or contentious matter).
Discern- perceive or recognize (something)
Martyr- a person who is killed because of their religious or other beliefs.
Mirth- amusement, especially as expressed in laughter
Catechism- a summary of the principles of Christian religion in the form of questions and answers, used for the instruction of Christians
Pious- devoutly religious
Frenzy- a state or period of uncontrolled excitement or wild behavior

Vocabulary

theme- the subject of a talk, a piece of writing
tone- the general character of attitude of a place, piece of writing, situation, etc
mood- a temporary state of mind or feeling
diction- the choice and use of words and phases in speech or writing
syntax- the arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language

stupid- lacking intelligence or common sense
adumbrate- foreshadow or symbolize
apotheosis-  the highest point in the development of something; culmination or climax
ascetic- characterized by or suggesting the practice of severe self-discipline and abstention from all forms of indulgence, typically for religious reasons
bauble- a small, showy trinket or decoration
beguile- charm or enchant (someone), sometimes in a deceptive way
burgeon- begin to grow or increase rapidly; flourish
complement- a thing that completes or brings to perfection
contumacious- (especially of a defendant's behavior) stubbornly or willfully disobedient to authority
curmudgeon- a bad tempered or surly person
didactic- intended to teach, particularly in having moral instruction as an ulterior motive

"The Conscience of a Hacker"

In this story they talk about a kid who is tired of being teached the same thing over and over again. The teachers ask the same questions and the teachers believe the students are all the same.

"The Earth on Turtle's back"

In this story they talk about how people and animals worked together to help make the earth. 
It shows that if we all work together we can all help make the earth a better place.
Also it shows that with great risk comes great rewards.
